How to: Pay monthly rent

Automatic Direct Bank Transfer is the most convenient method of paying the monthly rent for UR-housing.

You can apply for any UR-approved financial institution that are indicated below. You can apply at Banks or at the Japan Post Bank.

Applying at UR-approved bank
1. Request for Direct Bank Transfer (See Sample form below)
2. Contract Payment Receipt
3. Savings Passbook
4. Your bank registered seal/Hanko(stamp)

Applying at Post Offices
1. Application for Automatic Rent Payment (Provided at administration service office)
2. Savings Passbook
3. You post office seal

※ Direct Payments commence after a month from the application. It is advised to apply by the 2nd week of the month. Direct bank transfer should start by the following month.

If Payment is Late 

If rent payment is delayed, you will be subject to interest of 14.56% per annum (per 365 days) on arrears.


If payment is delayed by more than three months, UR shall cancel your rent agreement and will be asked to vacate the apartment. In this event, UR shall then take legal action in order to effect your vacation and repayment of arrears.
