☆ Ken’s INTERESTING FACTS about JAPAN ☆　
Golden week or “Large Consecutive Holiday” is one of the most awaited day for most Japanese and “Salaryman”. Most Japanese goes abroad and extend the holiday for a week or 2 by using their paid holiday from company. Golden week contains the following public holidays:

April 29 – Showa No Hi (昭和の日) – the purpose of the holiday is to encourage public reflection on the turbulent 63 years of Hirohito’s reign.
May 3 – Constitution Memorial Day (憲法記念日) – celebration of the promulgation of the 1947 Constitution of Japan
May 4 – Greenery day (みどりの日)- the acknowledge the controversial wratime emperor’s love for plants without directly mentioning his name
May 5 – Children`s day (こどもの日) – a day set aside to respect children’s personalties and to celebrate their happiness.

This year it does not fall between April 30 and May 2, so it became shorter consecitive holidays that increase a huge number of domestic travellers.

Expectantly, I am going to the center of Hokkaido at this time for family purpose. Not a well known place expect the norhenmost zoo in Japan.
